Maurice & Mandy’s Chaotic Week

First, they were evicted. Then, there was a car accident injuring both Mandy and her daughter. And this was just the beginning of a chaotic week in the life of Love After Lockup’s Maurice Gipson and his partner Amanda Orr a/k/a Mandy “Money Bags” Gipson.

Viewers may remember Maurice from his marriage to Jessica in season 3 of Love After Lockup. Jessica’s father helped Maurice out financially to buy a ring for Jessica. They also have a young son together, Maliq. Maurice returned to jail on a parole violation. Once released, he returned home and has been in a relationship with Mandy since.

This past week has been an eventful one in the life of Mandy and Maurice. It all started on October 23, 2022, when the modern version of Bonnie and Clyde was arrested. They were with two other accomplices outside a department store ironically called “Maurice’s Department Store.” They were charged with theft and drug charges.

Then it all really started to fall apart starting last Friday. First, Mandy almost got into a physical fight at her daughter’s school. Just like any good mom should, right?

Then on Saturday, Mandy’s close friend Kashlynn, whom she met in foster care at 13 years old, made a grand announcement. She said she had evicted Mandy and Maurice from her home. Kashlynn said they were stealing from her. She also exposed Mandy for asking her 16-year-old son for money.  Mandy retaliated by exposing some private and unflattering texts between her and Kashlynn.

If that wasn’t enough drama to hold anyone over for a while, on Monday, Mandy posted to her Instagram story: “me and my family were in a horrible car crash keep us in your prayers.” A picture of her bloodied face accompanied this.

She also showed pictures of the aftermath of the accident and the damage that occurred. 

As time passed, Mandy posted more graphic photos of her injuries, including those of her daughter.

The day after the accident, Mandy and Maurice posted messages to their Instagram stories.

Finally, Mandy announced early Friday that “God is a blessing getting a new car tomorrow thank you Jesus I’m gonna sleep so much better tonight thank you, Jesus.”  She later posted a video of Maurice driving: “we back they couldn’t take wheels away from us long thank you lord ❤️🙏🏻” I am more concerned for the citizens of Los Angeles with these two driving on the streets.

Meanwhile, Jessica–who has posted about her own broken ankle needing surgery–is now recovering. Their son Maliq is spending quality time with grandpa.

If I were Mandy, I would be looking over my shoulder for the next dramatic situation to creep around the corner and bite me on my broken ankle.
