Dauri’s Bunkie Smoke: Bringing The Fire

As viewers watch this season of Love During Lockup unfold, Emily faces many hurdles in her relationship with Dauri:

1. There is the apparent fact that Dauri is serving a prison sentence.
2. Emily revealed her trust in Dauri was destroyed when she discovered he cheated on her.
3. His cellmate “Smoke” tore into Emily. He was meeting up with her to get money for a “business venture. “ 

The meeting did not go well at all.

Emily tells the viewers that she is very wary of Smoke and does not want Dauri associating with him. Emily explains that Smoke always had an “unhealthy” interest in their relationship. She believes Smoke is causing undue influence on Dauri and does not like it. She goes so far as to give Dauri an ultimatum: her or Smoke.

It looks like Emily has every reason to want to keep her man away from Smoke. Anthony “Smoke” Pinson and six other accomplices were involved in a days-long armed robbery spree in the New Brunswick area of NJ in 2017. One of Smoke’s victims was an innocent 60-year-old gas station attendant that was shot and wounded by Smoke in an attempted robbery of the gas station.

On Pinson’s rap sheet – which dates back to 2011- he was charged with crimes including:

• Attempted murder

• Conspiracy to commit murder 

• Robbery

• Conspiracy to commit robbery

• Conspiracy to commit carjacking

• Possession of an assault firearm 

• Receiving stolen property 

Smoke’s crimes started at 19 when he was charged with two counts of robbery in 2011.
