90 Day Fiance: Jon and Rachel Announce It’s Over

Fans were first introduced to Rachel Walters during season two of 90 Day Fiance: Before The 90 Days. Rachel – a single mother from New Mexico – met Jon on a karaoke app while she was pregnant with her daughter Lucy. Rachel would eventually fly out to England to meet Jon. During Rachel’s first visit, they discussed the possible options for Jon to join Rachel and Lucy in the United States. The visa process would be a difficult one because of Jon’s criminal record.

The couple eventually decided the spousal visa would be the best option for them. Rachel would meet with an immigration attorney for advice. Even though the news is not exactly what they wanted to hear – Jon adamantly declares he is ready for the battle to join Rachel and Lucy.

After a seven-year-long battle – sadly it is over for Jon and Rachel’s relationship. Jon posted a message on his Facebook page stating “Dear Friends -It’s over I will not be joining Rachel and the girls in the USA. The future we wanted for so long isn’t the future we will have. We knew before we started that it would be hard but we always had hope to keep us going when things got tough. Our situation is hopeless and I don’t know what the next chapter in our life will look like. I’m a husband and father by invitation and have never taken that for granted, We aren’t the perfect couple, I know I’m far from the husband and father I want to be or wish I could be but a long-distance relationships are only ever meant to be temporary. We need time and space to get our heads.”

Rachel’s message on Instagram stated in part “Long distance relationships can be brutal on the toughest of couples” She also said, “This isn’t the ending we were hoping for nor is it the finale we were thinking would happen”.
