Nathan & Skylar: 2023 Bonnie & Clyde?

Nathan Tracy was introduced to viewers on the season premiere of season seven of Love After Lockup. In his first scene, he is home decor shopping in anticipation of his prison bae Skylar Rackley to come home to him. The viewers learn that Skylar has a colorful past. Nathan and Skylar met when she was dating one of his friends, and he died of an overdose. Skylar’s past two relationships both tragically ended the same way.

Nathan’s aunt expressed concern about this budding relationship. Nathan has served his own time in prison. Nathan’s aunt is concerned that Skylar’s issues with drugs may become Nathan’s issue. Nathan explains to the viewers that he and Skylar were able to meet while they were both released from prison. They saw each other while staying at their respective halfway houses. Nathan would not discuss why Skylar “got into trouble” and was sent back to prison.

Nathan is looking forward to his prison bae coming home. He buys her a ring, and unexpectedly his past catches up to him. While purchasing the ring, he recognizes the store clerk. Her mother was one of his crime victims. He apologizes to her and tells her he is now a changed man.

Will this relationship bring out the best in both of them? Skylar’s Facebook page shows she is engaged to Nathan and working. Nathan is self-employed, according to his Facebook page. Skylar has two daughters from her previous relationship, and they are featured prominently on her social media.

Nathan’s aunt’s concern may be warranted, however. Skylar’s involvement with the overdose deaths of her two previous boyfriends raises eyebrows. First, in December 2020, Skylar’s boyfriend Travis went mysteriously missing. Skylar turned to Twitter to express her emotions and fear.

Skylar again took to Twitter in early 2021 to express her pain about Travis’ tragic death.

Then in March 2021, things with her new relationship with Brannon would take a horrific turn. Brannon would be found dead of an overdose. It would later be determined a mix of fentanyl and heroin caused his death. Skylar would be charged with a slew of charges concerning Brannon’s death. Charges included obstruction of justice, tampering with evidence, and possession of criminal tools.

Skylar’s colorful rap sheet also includes credit card theft, drug possession charges, and providing alcohol to a minor.

Nathan – for his part – is no angel either. He may have been endearing while apologizing for stealing the store clerk’s mother’s car. His crimes are not so charming. Nathan’s rap sheet includes charges of robbery, assault, and vandalism.
