Life After Lockup: Sara Isaac: What Was Her Crime?

Shawn Osborne was first introduced to viewers on season 3 of Love After Lockup when he proposed to “felon” Destinie Folsom. This relationship quickly fell apart when he realized Destinie didn’t love him and used him for his money. Destinie took off in Shawn’s car, and he arranged for it to be towed away. Destinie believed that Shawn owed her the money for the vehicle. Even though Destinie was married and pregnant with another man, she continued to bother Shawn for cash.

This did not sit well with Sara Isaac, who viewers met in season three of Life After Lockup. Shawn was communicating with two “felons” simultaneously but already decided in his heart that Sara was the one he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. Shawn was talking to two “felons” -yes. But one thing he knew for sure- once he proposed to Destinie, Shawn realized he had made a big mistake.

When Sara was released from prison, Shawn realized she was the woman he wanted to be with. Destinie was unhappy to hear about this at all and tried everything she could to interfere in their lives. It didn’t work, however. Last season, Shawn and Sara got married and welcomed a new addition to their family: their daughter Addilyn.

Destinie’s rap sheet is well known, with discussions held on television about her prior charges. Destinie’s felonies include child neglect, forgery of a check, escape from prison, and burglary. To say she has a colorful past is to put it lightly.

When Shawn realized Destine was not the woman for him, he moved to Ohio to be closer to Sara. Sara already had a daughter – Abby- whom she had left behind for six years while in prison and was eager to make up for the lost time. Who is Sara Isaac? Why did she go to jail for six years?

According to the Cincinnati.com Enquirer, “on February 27, 2014, Sara Lynn Isaac participated in the injection of heroin into Richard Root Jr., 42, who died,”. The article further says, “Samantha Renee Forbes and Katherine Michelle Campbell took money and medication off of Root and hid a syringe before emergency personnel arrived, police reports state.”

Sara was convicted of involuntary manslaughter – a first-degree felony. According to WLWT5.com, Sara’s co-defendants – Samantha Forbes and Katherine Campbell, were each charged with tampering with evidence. They received sentences of 18 months each.

This season viewers are witnessing the beginning of Sara exploring a possible relationship between Abby and her biological father, Anthony. As previously reported, Anthony also has a past and a rap sheet to match. With arrests for drug trafficking and previously having his driver’s license suspended for non-payment of child support for another child (not with Sara) – Sara’s demands for consistency first seem reasonable.

Sara struggles to tell Shawn Anthony is back and “wants his family back.” Sara doesn’t want to stir up any unnecessary drama in her marriage unless Anthony shows consistency to Abby. Once Sara sees Anthony is serious, then she will let Anthony and Shawn meet.
