Life After Lockup: Who is Moka?

Justine and Mike Persaud have an announcement to make on this season of Life After Lockup – Justine is expecting a baby! Not everyone was too happy to hear this news, however. First, Justine’s daughter Kylie cried when she heard the news. Kylie is leaving for college soon and doesn’t want to feel “left out.” Mike’s mother, Maria, immediately asks for a paternity test. Mike is furious – comparing her to “Maury Popovich.”

Even Mike’s sister Anne was unsettled hearing the news. She was sad for Mike’s other three children in Rhode Island, who missed out on years with Mike when he was incarcerated. Anne and her wife helped care for those children, and Anne cried for the pain they went through. The one person who was the most unhappy with the baby news was Mike’s manager – Moka.

Moka is NOT happy that Mike will be a daddy – again. He asks Mike which is his priority – the studio or the midnight feedings. Moka implies Mike cannot have a married lifestyle and be a rapper at the same time. Moka insists he has never heard of a “married rapper.”

Who is Moka? What makes him such an expert in this subject?

Lydell Birch, a/k/a Moka Blast, a/k/a Ladies Love Moka, a/k/a Blast the Beautiful, was born on September 22, 1979, in Trinidad and Tobago. His Wikipedia profile states, “Moka has worked independently with multiple production companies, music labels, and talent agencies worldwide. Moka also runs his barbershop franchise in Las Vegas”.

Moka’s enterprises include “2hansum Barbershop” and FGC Studios which he is listed as the current founder for both. Moka was also the Lead Audio/Video Engineer for “Blast Offf Television” for eight years.

It looks like Moka may have an idea about marriage after all! According to the Buffalo News, Moka, a/k/a Lydell Birch, applied for a marriage license in 2005. There is no record of an actual filed license or divorce on file.

Moka also has a daughter whom he proudly commented on a recent picture of the two of them “knowing my baby is not a baby any more is mind-blowing. Either way, Thailand in June/July as she embarks on training to become a world champ. #girldad”

Moka also was arrested for assault in Miami Beach on January 3, 2006, for “battery-touch or strike (domestic).” There are not many details listed for this assault.

Moka has been featured on magazine covers such as Winter 2020’s “Entrepreneur Mindset” and “Neptune 1983 Magazine.”

However, Mike may not want to take too much business advice from Moka- he is being sued in small claims court.

Moka also has his own YouTube channel. He has videos featured such as “Never Be Me” and “Richer than Richer than Rich.”
